Reporting and Blocking
This page explains how to block unwanted players in the online features of "VELSIA: Star Ring Arena" (the "App") and how to report a player to BITCOINPAY K.K. ("we", "us"). For the rules themselves, see the Community Guidelines.
1. Blocking
You can block a player who bothers you. Blocks apply to the player's friend code.
- How: Tap the "…" next to the player in a party slot, the participant list, your friend list, or a friend request or invitation, and choose "Block". After an online match, choose "Report" on the match results screen, pick the player and choose "Report or block".
- What it does: The player can no longer send you friend requests or invitations, and cannot join rooms you host. They are also removed from your friends. They are not told that you blocked them.
- Unblocking: Go to Settings > Privacy > Blocked Players and choose "Unblock". Unblocking does not make you friends again.
A blocked player who knows your friend code can still see whether you have the App open. And if you join a room they host, with a room code or on the same Wi-Fi, you will be in the same room.
2. Other actions
| Action | How | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Remove from room (host only) | Choose "Remove from Room" in the player's "…" menu | The player leaves the room and cannot rejoin it. During a match, AI takes over their hero |
| Remove a friend | In your friend list, choose "Remove friend" for that player | Their invitations no longer appear. They can still send you a new friend request (block them to stop this) |
| Ignore a friend request | Choose "Ignore" on the request | The request disappears from the list. It may appear again if the player sends it again |
| Decline an invitation | On the invitation, choose "Decline" or "Decline invites from this player for 5 minutes" | Declines that invitation. The second option automatically declines that player's invitations for 5 minutes |
| Leave or disband a party | On the party screen, choose "Leave" (or "Disband" if you are the host) | You leave the room. If the host disbands the party, everyone leaves |
Party invitations from players who are not your friends are ignored automatically and never shown. The App has no free-text chat or voice chat.
3. Avoiding strangers
- Anyone who knows a room code can join or spectate that room without the host's approval. Only give room codes to people you know, and don't post them on social media.
- When you open the online screen in the App, other devices on the same Wi-Fi or other local network can see your room and join or spectate it. Don't open the online screen on public Wi-Fi or any network shared with people you don't know. If you don't use nearby rooms, you can turn the App off in your iPhone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.
- Anyone who knows your friend code can send you friend requests and see whether you have the App open. Only give your friend code to people you know.
- To stop using the online features, choose "Stop Using Online Features" in Settings > Privacy. You leave any room, and the App stops connecting to receive friend requests and invitations.
4. Reporting
In the App
- Tap the "…" next to the player and choose "Report" (after an online match, choose "Report" on the match results screen and pick the player).
- Choose a reason (offensive name, harassment or hate, cheating or modding, griefing or spam, impersonation, or other) and add details if you like. You can also block the player at the same time.
- Choose "Send via Mail" to create a draft email to us. Check it and send it.
The draft automatically includes the player's display name, friend code and player ID, where you met them, the room code, your own friend code, the date and time, and the App and iOS versions. Reports from the match results screen also include a value used to reproduce the match, the match duration and the player's seat; reports from an invitation also include the room name.
By email
If you can't report from the App, email info@btcpay.jp with "Report" in the subject line. Including the following helps us review it faster:
- The player's display name (and their friend code, if you know it)
- The date and time, and how you were playing (room code or a nearby room on the same Wi-Fi), plus the room code if you know it
- What happened
- Screenshots, if you have them
- Your own friend code (optional; we may use it to reply to you or to confirm your identity)
After you report
- As a rule, we start reviewing a report within 2 business days after we receive it (excluding weekends, Japanese public holidays and the New Year holidays), and act on it in line with the Community Guidelines. It may take longer when we receive many reports.
- If we confirm a violation, we take measures such as suspending the player's friend code (a suspended code can no longer send or receive friend requests or invitations). If an inappropriate name got past the automatic checks, we update the word list on the device and ship it in an App update.
- We never tell the reported player that you reported them or who you are.
- To protect the other player's privacy, we may not tell you what action we took.
- We do not inspect or record the content of traffic forwarded by the relay server, so we act on the information provided in reports.
5. If you feel unsafe
If someone threatens or stalks you, or you otherwise feel unsafe, contact your local police or emergency services right away. If you are under 18, please also talk to a parent, guardian or another adult you trust.
